figma Shana DX

Photobucket
Here is the figma Shana of Yui_style, the Hongkonger who modded Miku into figma Lacus Clyne. Anyone noticed any difference with this Shana from the normal one?

The answer is the hair that sticks out on top (aka "ahoge" アホ毛, thanks to gordon who knows the term), of which Yui nicknames it the "antenna", and the necklace for the pendant (Alastor). The necklace is just a thin metal wire he glues to the pendant; a simple add-on that anyone can do to their figma Shana~

The ahoge Yui stole was from Figumate of Flame Haze Shana by Konami. He complained that a Shana without the it doesn't look like Shana, so he has to add one no matter what.

figma blog has featured this flaming shot of figma Shana from yui_style, whose figma Lacus he modded got a shout there a while ago.

Does she look more like the Shana we know now? ^^

  1. I had to double check my figma Shana as I was not getting it. lol

Well, I hope they add these 2 bits in the black hair version. ^_^

  2. in my opinion they should have added both those in the first place, that's the only flaw I found in the figure to be honest.

Haha I too didn't notice the addons until he mentioned it on the forum.

The little touch-ups do seem to make a difference, but luckily they are quite easy to add if you have the right stuff.

  6. didn't realize what you were talking about until i went back and compared to photos of the actual figma release ^^;; i guess that's a testament to the modder's skill, looked very natural and well done!

Haha it is indeed not easy to recognise the difference as the extra stuff blend in so naturally. I wonder whether I should do the same to mine when I'm home? :o

  8. Nice ahoge! It's these finer details that help the figure resemble the anime character. I wouldn't have the skills to add them myself, though XD.

Indeed such little things can change our impression on a character's appearance. A thin wire shouldn't be too hard to add on for the pendant, an ahoge may not be as easy to find and mod.
