Good Smile Company recently released distribution maps for its nendoroid Snow Mikus. Snow Miku is a variation of Hatsune Miku, but gnerally with more white and lighter blue to reflect the winter and snow theme. This proves to be very popular, and new versions have appeared since the first one released in 2010. Let us see where these Snow Mikus were shipped for the past few years.

Here is the distribution map of the very first nendoroid Snow Miku in Japan back in 2010. As the first Snow Miku was for Japan only, those who got it outside Japan via proxy are not shown.

Those around Tokyo have the most.

Unfortunately, there is no indicator showing the quantity of Snow Miku for each location. We are only getting an approximate proportions without knowing the numbers.

Next is nendoroid Snow Miku Playtime Edition, which was released in 2011. Just as with the first Snow Miku, this was sold in Japan only.

Nendoroid Snow Miku Fluffy Coat Edition was the third Snow Miku. Released last year in 2012,

Nendoroid Snow Miku Fluffy Coat Edition was also the first Snow Miku to be available outside Japan. Let's see how that fares. The place where most Snow Mikus were shipped outside Japan was, interestingly enough, Mainland China. Running close behind were USA, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia.

And finally the worldwide distribution map for this year's Snow Miku. As the official shipment date for overseas orders is 8th August, so this map is presumably based on the pre-orders. I doubt those that were officially sold in conventions such as C3 in Hong Kong and ACGHK 2013 were counted though.

Interesting to see that there is a general increase, with an apparent dramatic boost for Taiwan. However pre-orders for USA seems to have shrunk compared to last year.

Too bad the individual Miku figures on the maps don't really indicate the quantities, but I guess we have the approximate idea in terms of proportions comparing locations to locations. It's interesting to see where the Snow Mikus are shipped to, especially on the global maps. I am looking forward to receive mine soon for this year's Snow Miku!

  1. Interesting to see how they are being purchased. It is a great marketing tool for them as well. This way they can see what their worldwide distribution may be like if they start going global.

    1. The maps are an interesting way for GSC to show off where the Snow Mikus are sold to. At the same time one can see where a lot of the nendoroid / Miku fans are!
