Drawing for Disaster

Photobucket
On 11th March a major earthquake has hit Japan's main island (Honshu) on an unprecedented scale, followed by waves of tsunamis that caused even greater damage across the coastline. This results in a significant loss of lives, damage of properties, as well as ongoing nuclear accidents in Fukushima prefecture.

Japanese artists of anime, manga, and game industry have been doing drawings to lift the mood up and giving good will to those who are suffering from the natural disaster, as picked up on Gigazine. A few selections of well known artists are posted in this post.

Let us hope for the best for those who are suffering in Japan (as well as others that are in turmoil in other places), and if possible do whatever we can to help them.

  2. It is unfortunate that such a disaster should befall Japan. Especially in a country that is so densely populated.

To think that we thought Christchurch had it bad :/

Hope really is a very essential belief to hold on to in grave times of crisis. Hope those who are suffering will make it through alright.

It appears that this earthquake came so sudden that many did not anticipate something of unprecedented in scale, and with epicentre very close to coast there was little time to escape from tsunami.

Disasters sometimes just happen without any notice, and it makes people feel hopeless in the face of nature's destruction. However, in the midst of crisis, people are supporting each other in one form or the other; they do want to give the hope and good will to people who need them.
