Gundam Docks at Hong Kong

P7272147
At last, I finally managed to post the pictures of the Gundam Docks at Hong Kong event that happened back in August. My camera was misplaced soon after the evnet, and couldn't find it until recently orz. But later is better than never, and so the pictures get to see the light of the day!

Standing opposite of the Gundam was Char's MS-06S Custom Zaku II, which was in the same height and scale as the Gundam.

At nights there is a brief light show with the Gundam and the Zaku, followed by a video introducing the Gundam franchise on the big screen behind the Gundam.

That wraps up the long backlogged event! Wish I could bring this up earlier orz.

While the Gundam and Zaku were not of life size, it's still impressive to see the 6m replicas standing in one of the busiest areas in Hong Kong. It's also amazing how the venerable director of Gundam Yoshiyuki Tomino was invited to Hong Kong for an interview! The human size Zaku statues are a nice addition for people to take photos with, though there are reports of damage from people who mistreated them. :\

Nevertheless I am glad that Hong Kong managed to host such an event, which shows just how popular the franchise is over ehre. I do hope to see more of such events in the future!

  1. WOW - sorry it took so long to find, but what great shots. The larger than life Zaku's people could walk around must have been so darn cool.

    1. It is a little demotivating having lost the camera for some time, but at least it's back and safe again. The 1.8m Zakus are quite a treat. People can pose right next to them for photos, as long as they don't damage them that is!
