Good Smile Company has recently revealed a coloured sample of the 1/8 Hatsune Miku Deep Sea Girl version, which is scheduled to be released at the end of this year.

The figure depicts Miku sitting on the seabed in the ocean, and is based on an art from pixiv, which is used for a song of the same name composed and arranged by Yuuyu.

The figure will be sold for 14800 Yen for December release. It is available for pre-order on online shops such as Hobby Search and AmiAmi, as well as Good Smile Online Shop (the latter will also come with a B3 poster).

However, the figure is not the main point for me; I didn't think much of the figure in the first place. That is until I saw this picture below:

Someone made this picture and posted on facebook. My perception of this figure has forever been changed by it. ^^;

  1. I love the last picture. GSC really is milking the Miku craze for all that it's worth, but all of their Miku figures look so tempting it's hard to resist.

    1. GSC really goes heavy into marketing for Miku, and although one can easily say that people will buy no matter what they throw in, a lot of the times the Miku figures do look good rather than just relying on the hype/fanbase. It's not surprising to see why the character is so popular.

  2. I have a feeling they are trying to ride on the heels of Squid Girl's popularity. Miku has nothing to do with the sea, but that artist's rendition is beautiful.

    Just like an Idol, always having cash thrown at them - LOL.

    1. The Deep Sea Girl is based on the song of the same name. There are Miku figures based on the more popular songs in the past released by GSC, such as World is Mine and Love is War.

      The last picture really does asy a lot about idol fanbase in general lol.
