Mikudayo

Photobucket
Hatsune Miku is liked by many with her appearance and the songs she sings. She's now very popular that many variations are created via different means, but a recent one from this year becomes popular not for the same reason, but perhaps for something else.

Mikudayo (ミクダヨー) is the moniker given to the kigurumi of nendoroid Miku originally for promoting the 3DS game Hatsune Miku and Future Stars: Project Mirai.

While the costumed Miku is supposed to resemble nendoroid Miku, the overall appearance looks... Slightly different. Be it the relatively stout appearance, those "flappy twin tails", the looks of the eyes, Mikudayo simply gives off a different aura than the one we are usually familiar with...

Then all sorts of parodies come in thanks to the fascinating creativity from the Internet communities. Here is a snall selection of them:

A doctored image of Iran's missile launches, although this is not the most used image for editing.

Char stabbed the GM in the famous scene in Mobile Suit: Gundam? No. Mikudayo did it (image from pixiv).

Photobucket
The Shining. Heck, it now even looks creepier than the original cover.

Gohan couldn't stand a chance with her

What's more, Good Smile Company even announces the nendoroid of Mikudayo, which is set to release in March 2013 for 3000 Yen. It is now available for pre-order via its web shop, as well as other online shops such as Hobby Search, AmiAmi, and HLJ.

Miku kick! The GM action figure in question is Banpresto's S.C.M. EX line, known for slim proportions and great articulations.

Photobucket
Look at the poor GM orzing in the background... Terrified with his pride lost, it's unlikely that he will get back up anytime soon.

So, anyone interested in getting this nendoroid?

Just be careful and make sure you take full alert of your surroundings; she may be just around the corner, ready to take you down by surprise... ^^;

  1. Dear lord! What have they wrought upon us!? I saw the Mikatan blog post and thought it was a joke, but hell, here it is, rising up from hell. There are too many variations of Miku already, so I'll not get :P I was just talking to someone about what if someone created bootlegs for this Miku... They'll probably think it's a mistake and make their version look better than this one ^^;;;;

    1. I think the Nendoroid Mikudayo made its first appearance in a WonFes this summer. It was a "display only" prototype back then, but I didn't expect it to become the real thing either o_o;

      This official "bootleg-looking" Miku will surely put people off. I know I would if I were asked to manufacture this! XD

    1. All sorts of stuff are predicted for the end of 2012, but they definitely didn't see this one coming!

      But too bad she would miss the supposed doomsday, unless she decides to make a new one o_o

    1. This can put up a challenge on fans who are trying to collect all Miku figures, especially as this Mikudayo's popularity is not generated by her usual adorable / pretty appearance, but something else radically different... ^^;;;

  4. What a great series of jpg and gif's. She is one to watch out for and never turn your back on!

    I have my Nendoroid of Yoko and am happy with just that.

    1. The edited images are what makes Mikudayo shine, thanks to the Internet community~

      I'm happy with the Mikus I have so far ^^; While the images are popular, I do wonder whether this nendoroid will do just as well.

  5. I think Good smile is pushing the limit for Miku product for they know surely some fans will mindlessly get this... The question is will you be getting this by the end of the day?

    1. I purposely did not mention whether I will get it or not. While Mikudayo can be a good laugh for the meme images, I personally think the nendoroid is not attractive even for some Miku fans to acquire, and I am not that big into nendoroids overall, so I can safely pass on for this one.
