HGUC GM Sniper II White Dingo Team Custom preview
At last, HGUC 1/144 GM Sniper II has been anounced, along with the white-and-blue White Dingo Team Custom (which is a web order exclusive)!
Front and back
The GM Sniper II is the last MS featured in Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket OVA that was not announced for any Gunpla kits until now. It made appearance for less than a minute there, but made prominance in video games, where it is usually one of the best grunt units available for its time during the One Year War.
The White Dingo Team version makes appearance in Dremcast game Gundam Side Story 0079: Rise From the Ashes as the final usable unit for the player. In addition to being a high-end sniper unit, the White Dingo Team version has a variety of firearms available to their arsenal depending on their needs for the missions.
Armed with beam sniper rifle
Armed with 90mm machine gun and a custom shield
Like in the game, the White Dingo Team is known for using a variety of weapons in their arsenal. A hovertruck is included in the kit as well.
The HGUC 1/144 M Sniper II White Dingo Team Custom will be released in September in Japan for 1890 Yen (tax included), and in October in Hong Kong for 180 HKD. They are available for pre-order on Hobby Online Shop for Japan and Hong Kong.
The normal version of GM Sniper II will also be released in September for 1500 Yen.
At last, the final MS from Gundam 0080 is in sight! While I have a Robot Damashii version of the normal colour already, I am tempted to get the White Dingo one and possibly the normal one for Gunpla too. It's a little odd how this one takes a long time to release, but it's finally here. It will still be some time before any pre-release reviews are out, so I just have to wait until I get to know how the model is like, hope it won't be disappointing as recent ones seem to cut out a lot of colour seperation on parts and revert to stickers instead :o

I love how you can actually pose him. I really enjoy my GFF, but they aren't that posable.
ReplyDeleteNot too keen on the blue on blue version and like the other one more.
GFFs do have a nice finish (with decals), though I agree that they are not very posable and the joints become loose pretty easily, so they are there mainly to be displayed and look pretty IMHO. The MSiA and its "successor" Robot Damashii are more suited for posing as action figures than GFF.
DeleteThe normal one does look a little bland with two shades of blue together, whereas the white and blue stand out better on the White Dingo Team version.
even model kit turn exclusive now :(
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately yes. More and more of them that you would normally expect to be regular release end up as web shop exclusive these days, which can be rather frustrating to those who want variants :\
DeleteThis is a must get for GM lovers
ReplyDeleteIf it isn't an exclusive then I'd surely recommend it for the abundance of weapons it offers! It's one of the best GMs in the settings!
DeleteI guess it's just me, but it looks really skinny compared to other MS.
ReplyDeleteThe GMs in Gundam 0080 do look quite slim compared to other GMs in the One Year War. Maybe it's due to it coming from a different designer (Yutaka Izubuchi), but his other MS designs outside 0080 don't look as thin though.
