Four Years of Daybreak
It's been 4 years already? Even I haven't noticed it until recently!
To the new visitors, I welcome you and thank you for stopping by.
To the returning readers, I thank you for coming back to my humble blog.
A lot of things have happened this year, especially in the recent months, which makes me having a hard time catching up with all sorts of things here and there, be it hobby or things in life. I actually miss my blog's anniversary day as it occurred over the Dollism Plus weekend, when I met a number of doll hobbyists, with some from overseas for a gathering. It was a very busy weekend, and I even felt a little overwhelmed by it too, which made me forgot about the anniversary in the first place.
Four years is sure no short period of time, especially for personal blogging. I look back at the older posts I've written up (for nostalgic reasons, or tracing them back for reference) and I was surprised that some of them were posted older than I have thought.
Military, Gundam, bishoujo, and now even into dolls (what?!), I sure have my hands on various hobbies these days. What's more, it's not easy to keep up with all of them at the same time! The backlogs continue to build up as I write. @_@ With those on top of blogging, which can be quite time consuming, it's not surprising that I take a long time to blog or to leave comments orz.
Despite the way how things look like an uphill journey here, blogging about your hobby is an enjoyable process, where you share out what you enjoy or your opinions out to people with common interests, and they share them back to each other. Aside from blogs, other forms of medium include twitter and tumblr are becoming more popular as an alternative these days too. Sure, not everything will go smooth and calmly, as we all have our own ways and opinions, of which they may clash with those who do not share the same motives or thoughts. Nevertheless, hobby is something to enjoy with, so I tend to look on the positive side as much as possible.
For closing words, I want to thank everyone who support me in the blogosphere all these time, along with those I met via other places. I really appreciate and value the comments, emails, tweets, or the times we meet up in person all these times!

Congrats on reaching 4 years! Time sure does fly by when you think about it. Glad to see other blogs that have been around as long (or longer) than my own that keep on going, and yes with other mediums like twitter and the likes, blogging can easily be forgotten or put on the back burner. I know I'm guilty of such at times. Hope to still be around to see your five year mark (and mine)! No matter what your hobbies, keep doing what you love to do!
ReplyDeleteThanks Persocom! Some of the posts I've written, or the toys I've bought really didn't feel too long ago!
DeleteAs you said, twitter and other similar mediums are simpler to portray expressions, but I think blogs still have their values because one can put a lot more thoughts in them, and the posts are easier to trace back too.
I have a good time reading your anime reviews as well as your Pokepla! I do hope you and Riiana will continue posting, and all the best to our hobbies!
congrats as well. It isn't easy keeping up with a blog with the way life keeps changing. I have enjoyed your reviews and writing on Gundam.
ReplyDeleteWith how 'instant' the world is now, Persocom is right. We can be reading something the minute it happens. Kind of hard to be 'in the know', when it was just updated :D
Hope to see you in another 4 years as well.
Thanks bluedrakon! Busy life and all sorts of distractions can easily keep one away from blogging! I'm glad that you enjoy the posts all this time!
DeleteInformation is now becoming readily available and with convenience, perhaps too quickly for us to take it all. In another 4 years?! It's hard to predict what will happen then, but we shall see!
Well done for maintaining a blog for 4 years. I've seen quite a few people drop by the wayside over the years so I know how hard it is for people to keep going. I was hit by a reality check when I wrote my post for my blogs 5th birthday back in May!
ReplyDeleteTwitter is fine if you want to just share snippets of info but often, the character limit just isn't enough! I do think that twitter is more of a "look at this" service as opposed to allowing you to fully share your thoughts on something.
Rock on dude!! Let's see you hit the big 5!
People do come and go over the years, and admittedly it's not easy to keep up for this long! I actually missed your anniversary post completely, which I haven't realised until you mention it orz.
DeleteI do agree with you how twitter is more suited to give out small snippets of information rather than posting thoughts in details, and I sometimes really struggled trying to put them within the 140-character limit without compromising the sentences or words too much!
All the best to our hobbies!
Congrats on hitting the fourth. I see some layout change too (a brighter one at that).
ReplyDelete(on a side note, never really got into twitter, even if I'm using a (2nd gen) smartphone, but never used it's Internet function much).
Thank you! I have been a little hesitant on changing the layout as a number of the features implemented are a little outdated and I was a little worried whether they will be carried forward or not, but I'm glad that I went ahead at the end!
DeleteTwitter can be hard to follow as it's often a constant stream of short messages. However, one can always depend on other places for information or simply to hang out!
Congratulations for 4 years blogging!! I enjoy your blog posts a lot, and hope to read more and more from you.
ReplyDeleteby the way the new look is nice, and very comfortable for reading :D
Thanks Yui! I'm glad that you enjoy reading my posts; your quality blog posts have also been a motivating inspiration for me!
DeleteI'm not sure whether the current new look will be final, but it's pleasant for me to learn from you that it is more at ease for the eyes to read~
Gratz bro! seems like only yesterday you wrote of your third year anniversary :P
ReplyDeleteIt is a funny feeling! Some aspects felt like it has been quite a while, yet other moments really didn't feel like so long ago! Hope I'll get to see you again like last year!
Deletepretty late but congrats 4 years I can't imagine what you get through till now ^^
ReplyDeleteHaha I was late to my own anniversary so it's no big deal :P It's funny looking back what I have posted for the past 4 years, and see how much time has elapsed since I have first started (re)blogging!
DeleteI know I'm late, but congratz on 4 years. Here's to another great 4 years! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks! All the best to our hobbies!
DeleteHappy belated 4th anniversary and yes it is not easy to go on so long blogging but don't give up!
ReplyDeleteThere are high and low times in blogging. It's a pity seeing people leaving or disappearing without a notice, but it's also a nice experience meeting new people, and even in person. I suppose it's the different "colours" I see in the process of blogging that keeps me blogging!
DeleteA little late but congratulations on the fourth anniversary of your blog, Q! I do feel the positive energy coming from you here, which makes this blog a wonderful place to hang out at all these years. No stirring the hate ^^. 4 years... so that means you and I (among many others) started around the same time during the blogging bloom of the time haha. Good to see you still soldiering on till this day and hopefully many more days to come. Again, Congratulations and happy blogging!
ReplyDeleteThanks Z! While I actually am not that much of an optimistic person, I do want to be as positive as I can here as it's better to spread love and hate, right? ^^
DeleteI do agree with you that a lot of us have started blogging around the same time, which is as you've said a "bloom" or "boom", possibly under the influence of Danny Choo or not. I do hear that you may stop blogging soon, but nevertheless I do wish all the best to you and to your hobbies!
Happy belated Blogday! :D Time really fly fast don't it? I think I'm reaching my 4th year too soon. And I see you've changed the look here. Very bright ^_^ Our hobbies tend to evolve about the same way doesn't it? Well... Maybe less military stuff for me, lol. I've definitely slowed down on posting... And even less so visiting others :< So many things to do, so little time, sigh.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Time sure flies, and I am barely keeping up with things! I do hope the new scheme is okay since I am not familiar fidgeting with designs and themes!
DeleteOur hobbies do get influenced by others, hence we end up going in the same direction, especially with our latest one, and about the same time too XD
It does appear that we all are getting busier and busier nowadays. I too want to have more time to myself, but it may be some time before I can reverse it. Hope I can still keep up with the pace though!
4 years is a long time, congrats on keeping it up for so long. I look forward to seeing you around for at least another 4 years :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Time flies, and it's funny that it's been four years already. I look forward to see more of your analytical posts! ^^
