ACGHK 2011 Part 3
Continuing on from Part 1 and 2, the 3rd part of ACGHK 2011 coverage shall focus on the Gunpla competition entries that are displayed in the event.
Will all captions to the photos later in the day.
Encountered one of the official judges who is rating individual works there.
Beargguy cosplay!
Very alternate colour scheme of Gundam Epyon
Sword Calamity. Sometimes I'm surprised that SEED MSV designs still pop up now and then.
What a lovely proposal there XD
A very WWII German military style of Zaku Warrior, with a King Tiger (aka Tiger II) of the same scale behind it
Raphael Gundam getting some massage from its big arms XD
I somehow really love this diorama of 1/48 Zaku II
Gundam ZII
A guitar playing Strike Gundam XD
To be honest I am a little surprised that this Gundoom makes it into this place despite not being an authentic model kit
Unicorn Gundam with Nu Gundam's Fin Funnels and beam sabre
An orange Ex-S Gundam
Seravee Gundam GNHW/3G
A tri-colour camouflage Zaku II with some pillboxes behind it
Same thing as above with flash. Just testing out and seeing the colour differences.
An interesting Astray with lots of skull patterns embedded onto the frame
Rick Dias with Zeta Gundam.
Interesting how the Rick Dias there has a large gun like Zeta's Mega Launcher there.
Nobel Gundam as Akemi Homura from Puella Magi Madoka Magica
An SD Assault Buster V2 Gundam
Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode with blue psychoframe
Samurai Pizza Cat!
A somewhat unusually proportioned Wing Gundam Ver Ka.
Crossbone Gundam with a horse like a knight of some kind
There is always a Gundam girl every year. This year's the 00 Quan[T].
Unicorn Gundam Destroy Mode deactivated, with some hatches opened up as if for maintenance
This Unicorn Gundam has some nice paint effects near the edges of the psychoframe as if it's really glowing
This big headed EZ-8 reminds me of the FW Gundam Coverge series of shokugan toys
Really loving this pill shape Kshatriya, with the binders looking a bit like legs here XD
I remember seeing the pill shape Zakus somewhere way back in Dengeki Hobby magazine 2010 August issue. Maybe this is where this Kshatriya's idea comes from.
A Boston Celtics GN-X!
A diorama named "My Dream", showing the creator's wish to have both a 1/1 RX-78-2 Gundam and Char's Zaku II standing side by side, with their weapons available on display too.
Tallgeese under maintenance.
Gundam vs Zeong
A really good diorama of Gundam the Ride
Full Armour Gundam
Devil Gundam
A Gyan with GN Sword (Exia's blade but Astraea's base)
A nicely weathered 1/35 Zaku II head
The "Chinese Gundam" with RX-78-2 Gundam side by side ^^;

ReplyDeleteWhoa! Lots to see and admire!
ReplyDeleteOh wow. ^ ^ Lovely mecha cupcakes!!
ReplyDeleteIs that first picture a real cake? It looks awesome either way. I think my favorite shot is the Zaku II diorama though. And Gundam Girl is <3 I wanna see more of those.
ReplyDeleteQ, thank you very much for posting these, there were SO MANY amazing custom builds, like the Red Epyon. Just awesome.
ReplyDeleteI'll be looking back at these pictures for some time!
@ Yui:
ReplyDeleteThere appears to be more funny and/or cute entries this year (I think most of them are from the girls group). Some really brought me a smile and chuckle a bit!
@ Gundam Gunsou:
There are lots to see for a small portion in the whole venue, and every year they always have something that really impresses me, or even just to give me a good laugh!
@ Yi:
Haha the first picture isn't intentionally there (it just happenst to be the first picture I have taken), but I'm glad that you love it~ ^^
@ Persocom:
I'm not fully sure whether the cupcake is real or not, but I think some of the items there are real food like the biscuits for example :o
The Zaku diorama has great potential for a dedicated photoshoot IMHO, and haha Gundam girl never disappoints ^^; I wonder what will be next for next year?
@ korewagundam:
I'm glad that you like them. They can be a good source for inspiration, and I hope they can give you something creative for your future projects!
