Continuing on from Part 1, this is part 2 for the ACGHK 2011 coverage, which focuses on anime related stuff.
Captions will come later in the day.

Kadokawa booth. Its queue is long as always; it takes more than half an hour just to get inside and have a look what manga or light novels they have on offer.

Big picture of Haruhi. Speaking of Haruhi the novel series has resumed after several years of hiatus. Anyone still following it these days?

Lots of costumes

It's funny how other than the bishoujo are featured on the pillow cases, Madoka Magica's notorious Kyubey (キュゥべえ) aka QB joins in the rank too ^^;

Various wooden signs

More pillow, leeks, Saber Alter's Excalibur as well as character plushes spotted in one of the shops

Lore and settings of Gundam AGE explained in Chinese. Now I've finally realised that the 3 kids are supposed to be grandfather, son, and grandson from left to right at the bottom of the picture, rather than just 'friends' @_@;

Candy Toy Gundam AGE-1 trading figures

Candy Toy Gundam AGE-1 Normal under magnifying glass. I think it is around 5cm tall in real life.

Boxes and boxes of Gunpla in the shop. Some limited ones such as MG 1/100 Heine Westenfluss' Destiny Gundam as well as 1/100 00 Raiser (not MG) Clear Colour ver. are available as well.

The lego booth with a man holding up a sign stating where the end of the queue is. There's a smaller wording on it saying that the queue has already reached its capacity ^^;

It's too hard to get inside the lego booth due to the long queue, but one can still take some pictures of some of the diorama outside the booth~

Square-Enix booth

Play Arts Kai Ezio Auditore da Fironze of Assassin's Creed II

Minigame booths

A whole wall of gashapon machines~

A shop selling some rather interesting stuff, such as the hallowed masks from Bleach, Lightning's gunblade from Final Fantasy XIII as well as Zero's mask from Code Geass

Last but not least, a shot of someone launching Luffie's big bunch near the One Piece booth

THanks for sharing. Really look like an awesome event with Big scale. I hope Singapore has such event to match.
ReplyDeleteThanks buddy, I'm always happy to see your pictures from conventions! Looks like it was a great one!
ReplyDeleteLol, that last picture is awesome. By the way, are the merchandise like figures and models priced decently or are they a bit more expensive?
ReplyDeleteI have the last two novels with me... but I'm reading the english translation of it as I can't understand too much Japanese. Will get to learning it when I get more time after I graduate~
ReplyDelete@ LEon:
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you like it. AFA is not comparable to this? I would have thought that AFA is more than a match to ACGHK due to its size and popularity :o
@ korewagundam:
Thanks for the support. To be honest this year does not differ too much from the pervious years, but it's nice to see what stuff they have for offer or just to know what's hot at the moment I'd say!
@ Tom:
Some stuff like figures are more or less around the same price as those outside, but Gunpla kits are not cheap as they are sold by Toys "R" Us; only event exclusive kits are worth buying there IMHO.
@ Robostrike:
I have heard that latest 2 novels have different languages released simultaneously. From what you've said it sounds like that English isn't part of this release. I still haven't started the 9th one as I have been waiting for the whole arc to complete. Not sure when I will get around to reading it though. Do let me know if it's a good read when you've finished!
