Model is 1/700 scale. To be released in May (this month) for official retail price of 7800 Yen.

For those who are interested, it is available on Hobby Search, Hobby Link Japan, and AmiAmi for pre-order.

... Can't say I can approve this at all though ^^;;

Shizuoka Hobby Show is an annual exhibition event held in Shizuoka, Japan. It is a large event for all sorts of hobby-related items. For models, this includes but not limited to gunpla (Gundam models), military models, and car models. It also exhibits things like BB guns as well. Definitely sounds like a great place to go at least once when there is a chance. I know I will have something I will enjoy just to browse around there ^^

  1. I'm not quite sure who this is targeting, lol. It's a weird combination. Now where's my equally scaled K-ON Ita-Valkyrie squadron?

  5. I have to admit, that's pretty cool. I guess the target market are people who love scale models and anime?

    I think it would be epic cool if it was an actual carrier, like the Pokemon jet.

  6. LOL - Just think if the had a full spread of the girls in their swimsuit across the entire deck.

    Too many crashes

  7. Are they trying to get K-ON! Otaku to collect military model kits? What a joke...I hope there don't do this in real life.

    The combination still baffles me right now. Equally scaled ita-Valkyries?! Can you even see them properly at 1/700 scale? (Unless you are talking about the Macross itself) XD

    @ AstrayP03 (Zhe):
    Not my cup of tea either... -_-;

    @ GunStray:
    The ita-vehicle trend has spread so much that it makes things like K-On! ita-RC helicopters are the norm. I can only hope that it doesn't go to anymore of the military hardwares or else I will go crazy! @_@

    @ Blowfish:
    I agreed... It's like trying to mix curry and ice-cream together - they are ok on their own but just weird when mixed together. Haven't tried that but it's just a description I've heard from elsewhere before regarding on itashas.

    @ noushi.org:
    Haha you're gonna get it?

    @ radiant:
    Really? You think so? I like (some) anime, and I like military models, but I just think that the two cannot be mixed together.

    The Pokemon jet I don't mind at all, but this in real life? ... I don't want to imagine it ^^;

    @ Bluedrakon:
    LOL I gotta agree with you on the "too many crashes" XD

    @ LEon:
    I have no idea what this is supposed to target at specifically, but it sure doesn't appeal to me at all as a military fan. I am still wondering how many people really are going to be interested at buying and building one of these.

  9. I don't really like it either. It's just WEIRD to have moe music anime characters all over military things. Let's kill people with the power of moe? XD

  10. @ Persocom:
    I am a fan of military stuff (although I don't mention it often in the blog), and yea I agree with you that this combination does not mix well. Military is too different and serious to be associated with, um, fluff-like moe stuff. "Kill people with power of moe" lol... I sure don't want to be killed that way ^^;
