figma Shana

Photobucket
After reviewing figma Miku, it's time to have a look at the long waited Shana~

Photobucket
Shana is recently released on 20th this month. I got it on the very day of release for 200HKD, which is about the same as the retail price (2500 Yen). Despite being well distributed to Hong Kong this time, Shana seems to be sold out in most places by now! O_O

Photobucket
Shana comes with a katana, a melonpan, extra face, 5 extra pairs of hands (standard set + one special pair), figure stand + arm, and an L-shaped joint for the stand.

Photobucket
The front part of her hair is made of two material. The rubbery material is used for the sides, whereas the rest are transparent material, but the top portion of her flaming is is painted solid red, which is kinda strange for me. I wonder why they can't do something similar to the scaled figure they've made last year.

Photobucket
The special hands have no joints around the wrist compared to the normal hands for holding objects, and are more bent downwards. I think that the upcoming figma Seto will have them as well.

Photobucket
Unlike figma Kanu, the L-shaped joint here is colourless instead of white.

Photobucket
Shana's katana Nietono no Shana stands nearly as tall as herself, and compared to the 1/8 scaled figure by the same manufacturer, the hilt has a silver accent instead of gold.

Despite not being the top quality of the line, there are still some interesting details for this figma.

One of the features for this figma is movable hair. Having her hair fan out more is great for more dynamic poses.

The hole for the stand is actually quite well hidden. You have to lift up the collar to reveal it. However I find it difficult to fix the stand into it.

Photobucket
Shana can stand by herself, but not as easy as figma Haruhi or Miku due to her slightly back-heavy hair.

Shana comes with a melonpan that she's already taken a bite out of.

Photobucket
Haruhi: "Lemme have that~"
Shana: "No way!"

I somehow really like Shana in this pose. Quite a tsuntsun look there~

Overall I think that the highly anticipated Shana is worth the get, and it's not a surprise that it's nearly completely sold out here in Hong Kong. Other than the solid red for the top part of her hair, I generally have no real complaints for it. Do check out other bloggers' reviews for this figma as well:

    2. My one won't arrive till next year. T_T
So it has the L-shape joint huh. Hmmm... gotta be careful this time considering I broke my figma stand by applying to much pressure on the joint.

      Merry Christmas matey. ^^

Merry Christmas to you too! Hope you had a nice way to conclude the day despite having to work on a public holiday!

      @ Optic:
Hope you'll get your figma Shana soon!

I remember your dilemma on Kanu. I was a little worried about it too, but it seems fine when I gently twisted the jiont into the arm of the stand.

      @ Hayasaki-kun:
Do look forward to it! It's really worth the get in my humble opinion, especially if you like Shana~

It is pretty crazy I have to admit, but then apparently those from official distributor have only just arrived a few days ago, yet I've seen no sign of them...

figma is pretty popular here, because they're not as expensive as the scaled figures, yet they have better quality than gashapon and shokugan trading figures, making them a new and fairly popular choice for us Hongkongers.

    7. Thanks so much for the review.

I was wondering where in the world the hole on her back was.
