ACGHK 2012 Part 2
AGE-1 Titus beating up a Danazine
Like previous years, one of the attractions for attending ACGHK fair is to see the entry models for the Gunpla competition, which is now called Bandai Gunpla Builders World Cup (GBWC), with Hong Kong being one of the regions to enter for the final that will be held at the end of the year. As I took quite a few photos this time, the Gunpla models coverage will be split into two posts. Let's see the first half of the photos!
SD Gundams modified to Journey to the West
Ball as ashigaru, foot soldiers of the feudal Japan
Gundam basketball: Unicorn vs 00 Gundam
Marvel x SD Gundam
Gundam Olympics!
Zee Zulu
Desert theme Gundam with 2 Type 61 tanks
Gouft Flight Type battling a Guntank and a custom GM. Some of the glass shelves are quite dirty, whch hamper the photos unfortunately
3 Quebeley unite
Turn A vs Turn X
Gundam Extreme Vs, based on the final stage with boss Extreme Gundam Carnage Phase on top
A custom Full Armour Unicorn Gundam
Gundam AGE-1 with a modded 1/48 scale AGE-1 as a base
A blue and white 00 Raiser
Acguy with a Z'Gok
GM Striker doing a final blow at a Zaku I Sniper Type
A modded Advanced Hazel
Zeta Gundam
An SD Gundam AGE-2 Dark Hound mod
A Sleeves Zaku II standing over its defeated enemy
A well cooked Hygogg. Although this is actually not new (a similar work has been made years before), it's still pretty funny to look at.
Wing Gundam excavation. This won one of the awards.
Brave Commander Test Type landing a blow on 00Q
A custom Geara Zulu Heavy Arms Type
A custom Shaldoll. Looks much better than the original IMHO.
00Q Full Saber
MG Gundam F-91 Normal and Harrison's colour blended into one
Gundam AGE-1 with a pair of original cannons
Neo Zeon vs... Anaheim Electronics rather than Earth Federation? This is odd as Anaheim Electronics actually support both sides for many conflicts. Nevertheless it's an interesting setup
A mixture between Gogg and Hygogg, nicknamed by the modeller as the "Midgogg"
A beefed up Ball with extra cannon, thrusters, and even a spoiler at the back
Gundam AGE-1 Spallow as a ninja, which is quite fitting for its appearance
A heavily armed ReZEL with Zeta Gundam's head and colour scheme
SD Kshatriya
Farsia in a rather metallic pink forest. The theme looks quite fitting.
Excavating old relics (based on Turn A settings)
Gundam AGE-2 Artemis with a large head
Lots of Gaplant TR-5 (Hrairoo). This particular modeller seems to submit a lot of Advance of Zeta models every year.
The-O
Gafran modded as Mass Production Evangelion. Gotta say that the Vagan MS from Gundam AGE do suit to look like aliens ^^;
00 Gundam and O Raiser with GN Sword III
Custom Astray mod in Optimus Prime colour. This entry won an honourable mention
A custom Wing Gundam
A custom ReZEL with a heavy pack of support gear. This beast is the overall winner for adult entry group.
Custom Gafran
A custom Gundam with GP-01Fb thrusters and extra beam sabres on the legs
Gundam AGE-1 Spallow
SD Knight Gundam
Gundam AGE-1 with Gundam NT-1 (aka ALEX)'s Chobham armour
Custom Byarlant
That will be the first half for the entries, 2nd half to come on the next (and possibly) post!

There are some really nice dioramas this year and the ones that were picked really deserved the awards. For a minute, the custom ReZEL reminded me of a Zoid with all that armament.
ReplyDeleteAvengers and Olympic SD Gundam were a riot.
The ReZEL really draws a lot of attention and it deserves the award for its details. Many others like the Avengers and Olympic SD are worth mentioning!
DeleteCool, I've never seen anything like this before. The olympics one seems really fitting right now, but my favourite is the Wing Gundam excavation, it looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteThe Olympic one is very fitting for the time of the year, and it's a nice touch from the maker. The Wing Gundam excavation truly is well done, and I'm surprised it's made by a teenager (or at least it's submitted under that age group)!
