Gundam Vs Gundam EXTREME VS for PS3 confirmed
Famitsu has revealed that the latest instalment of the Gundam Vs series Gundam Vs Gundam EXTREME VS is getting ported to PS3 console, and it is to be released on 1st December 2011!
Gundam Vs Gundam EXTREME VS is first available as arcade game in Autumn last year. As far as I know, it retains the NEXT DASH system from the previous game (Gundam Vs Gundam NEXT), which allows quick dashes while cancelling previously made moves (and enables one to perform the next move quickly like chaining). Back is also an awakening gauge of some sort from the older series such as that from the Zeta era or SEED series, and each unit will have its own special ultimate move as well while in "awakened" mode.

Astray Red Frame with its 150m long katana o_o
Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth is going to be a new unit in the game
Seravee Gundam is likely going to be a PS3 exclusive suit, as it has not yet appeared in the arcade
Kshatriya vs Unicorn Gundam
Turn A vs Turn X
A lush looking Sinanju soaring the sky
Dismemberment other than across the torso is seen here on a grunt Zaku
The Hildolfr will be something that I will look forward to use in person~
The game will be released on 1st December at an official retail price of 8380 Yen (tax included). Price is a bit steep, but maybe I'll get to be more active on the PS3 in this second half of the year along with Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, which will be released in October!

~$100 (after shipping) for a PS3 game... that IS steep. I wonder if there will be an Asia version for a cheaper price. It won't be all that much cheaper but with how strong the yen is (or how weak the USD is), any saving would be nice ^^;. The 150m Gerbera Straight sold me on this game!
ReplyDeleteI'd buy the game for the 150m katana if i had a ps3! guess i should be glad I don't own one >.>
ReplyDeleteHope this gets a US release soon.
ReplyDeleteI skipped over the second gundam vs gundam game on the PSP so I'll probably import this one. Price be damned!! Hurrah for regoin free PS3 gaming!!!
ReplyDeletehey, can I copy a few images to my facebook Gundam Extreme Page?
ReplyDeleteThanks
it's actually a facebook page, press like if you want as well, thanks : D
ReplyDelete@ Z:
ReplyDeleteI really don't know whether there will be such thing as an Asia version for this game at the moment. Price is definitely not cheap especially for a regular game (and not some 'limited edition' etc). I did have a feeling that the 150m katana will get you somehow XD
@ AstrayP03 (Zhe):
Hahaha I know you and Z are a big fan of Astray and the 150m katana~ The PS3's price has gone down a bit recently, but the game's price is a bit steep there. Maybe that is a good thing you haven't owned a PS3 as you've said ^^;
@ Tom:
It's not impossible given that Gundam Vs did have English versions for the earlier titles, such as Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, but I guess it won't be much of an issue even if English version won't be released, as the game doesn't need much Japanese to understand, and PS3 games are region free.
@ gundamjehutykai:
I somehow have a funny feeling that there may be a "DX" version of this game, like most other Gundam Vs games that have happened in the past, but I think I will still get this nonetheless. Region free gaming sure is a big plus for the PS3!
@ r i c k y l i:
I think it'd be ok for you to use the images. It would be much appreciated if you can mention the source of the images (i.e. famitsu) on your facebook page!
I'm fairly sure that gundam vs zeta gundam was the last one to be released in the west and seeing that there have been 5 (soon to be 6) releases since then, I wouldn't give my hopes up.
ReplyDeleteIn any case, us poor guys in Europe only got the very first Fed vs zeon DX!! Didn't stop me from importing all the remaining PS2 games though (and playing enough Gundam vs Zeta gundam to unlock the Quebeley!)
Oh wow! I'll be buying that for sure!
ReplyDelete@ gundamjehutykai:
ReplyDeleteEurope only got the first game and that's it?! That's quite a pity...
Say, we may get to play the game together on the PS3... If I do happen to get on the PS3 often enough and get the time difference sorted that is!
@ korewagundam:
I have a feeling that there will be a DX / Next Plus for this game just like most other in the series, but I think I will get this nonetheless! We may even get to play together one day!
Q: I'm sure we can manage something. Hell, I was almost able to play an organised game of Team Fortress 2 with the people of Tomopop, and they're in the US so I'm sure we can do something.
ReplyDeleteI just wish they had freedom gundam (not SF). I was a demon with that unit in the SEED Vs games!!!
@ gundamjehutykai:
ReplyDeleteAs Hong Kong is 8 hours ahead of the UK once daylight saving time is over, I think the most sensible time we can play together would be the weekends. But nevertheless we should be able to manage a few sessions as you've said.
A lot of MS from previous game(s) have not been carried forward to Extreme Vs, which is rather shocking - Freedom is definitely one of them (much more preferable to Strike Freedom), along with any MS from TV series of Gundam Wing, Gundam X, Ground Type Gundam, GP03, or the Kämpfer. I personally like using Virtue, but it's not a big loss for losing it in this game. I have a feeling that more will be added in its "sequel" like previous games in the series.
i think this game is going to make a shit load of money, enough to make it to the USA, just like the other VS games.
ReplyDeletebut then again.. that one SEED game never got imported >_<

ReplyDeleteThere are no localised versions of the game after Gundam Vs Zeta Gundam, and that was way back in 2004/5! There are some Gundam games localised for the PS3 recently, such as Gundam Musou 3, so I guess it's not impossible for Extreme Vs to get localised, but I won't count on it really :\ Well, at least PS3 games are region free so that's a good thing!
