Custom PG 1/60 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G mod

A Taiwanese modeler has recently finished modding his PG 1/60 00 Gundam to become 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G. To sum it up: this is one heck of an impressive work.

The project started in mid-November last year, just before PG 1/60 00 Raiser was released. The GN Buster Sword II has an inner frame which is apparently from MG Astray Red Frame Kai. Other minor modifications are done on the 00 Gundam itself, such as some proportion corrections and allowing the feet to bend backwards.

All images are from the creator shockingkimo (aka wuncin999999 on ToysDaily forum). You can have a look at his WIP posts here.

I remember first seeing the GN Buster Sword II last year when the creator posted it on ToysDaily forum (before PG 00 Raiser was released). It was one ambitious project that I thought I may not hear again, but it is now finished a year after the creator announced his 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G project. It's definitely an impressive work he has done there, and he has just made it into BAKUC as well. Speaking of BAKUC, the BAKUC Final international competition is held in Hong Kong around December 2010 (i.e. Gundam Expo Hong Kong 2010). I do hope to see this PG 00 Gundam Seven Sword/G to make it there, as I am really taken by his work!

  2. I'm surprise that there's no resin conversion for the PG 00 Raiser...

  3. That is a very impressive conversion! Sadly nothing, and I mean NOTHING will be able to convince me that the PG 00 Raiser is a good kit, unless they change all the inner mechanisms as well.

  4. Nice...nice.. I don't know too much about the 00 Gundams, but I know the Seven Sword Varient of the OO is pretty slick, so its cool to see this.

  5. This conversion is really good, especially the lighting on the GN Buster Sword. I loved the different perspective of the finishing poses shown at the end of the post, I reminds me of SRW R-1's T-Link Sword attack.

  7. @ bd77:
    00 Gundam's massive sword reminds me of Cloud Strife's buster sword too from time to time ^^;

    I reckon more than 20 LEDs are used - there is lighting on the head too but I did not show it (it was in one of the WIP posts from the creator's blog).

    @ Tom:
    There is one resin conversion for the 1/100 scale, but I don't normally hear conversion kits for 1/60 scale. :\

    @ gundamjehutykai:
    I see that your traumatic experience with your PG 00 Raiser has not faded away much ^^; But nonetheless it sure is one impressive conversion backed by a lot of passion!

    @ Apt-1B:
    IMHO Seven Sword is cooler than O Raiser add-on, and it feels much more of a successor to Exia too! Seeing this in 1/60 scale is sure breathtaking!

    @ Jacques:
    The lighting of GN Buster Sword II is definitely slick, and reminds me a bit of Unicorn Gundam's destroy mode (though not as flashy). The pose sure resembles R-1's T-Link attack!

    @ Mikee:
    It's never too late to learn something new I suppose ^^;

  8. @Q: Trust me, those kind of experiences are the ones you forget easily, even if you want to! It's just a shame to know that even though it's a great conversion, it's going to be hampered by the base model! At least it can stand up straight though!

  10. @ Mena.:
    It sure is one impressive conversion work! If it makes it to the finals I'd love to see it in the upcoming Gundam Expo 2010 Hong Kong!

    @ gundamjehutykai:
    Would you mean "the ones you won't forget easily"? Too bad you had a bad time with it; I haven't heard so much problems about it from other people in forums strangely enough. At least it can stand up though, because I heard some can't even stand well like MG Exia apparently...

    @ AstrayP03 (Zhe):
    I've actually just made a post about it. Gundam Expo 2010 Hong Kong will take place between 7th December 2010 and 2nd January 2011. If you are able to come to Hong Kong drop me an email and we can discuss more about it!

  11. @Q: Doh! Been having a little PC issue recently. browser freezes for a second or 2 and misses my keyboard inputs. Might need to look at putting more RAM in my case. As for balance, 00 Gundam is fine but if you put on the 0 raiser, then it causes the body to arch back and then it won't stand without support. It looks really weird as well and the disproportionate parts really show up.

    BUt generally, the PG 00 Raiser seems to raise the ire of older kit builders. I have read praises from people who say that it's great but then say that it was their first PG so they don't have something to compare to.

    Andres over at Tomopop said that he hates the PG gundam MKII but given its age, I can somewhat understand. It's one of the reasons why I don't want to get a PG RX-78-2 even though it's the only PG gundam I don't own.

  12. @ gundamjehutykai:
    Browser freezing up now and then? That can sound rather annoying :\

    With its scale, a lot of plastics and inner frame, I won't be surprised that adding O Raiser would make the Gundam become back-heavy.

    People's experience on gunpla can react differently to a new gunpla kit I suppose. PG does make a huge leap forward with Strike Gundam, and Astray Red Frame basically uses the framework of Strike. 00 Gundam tries to have new gimmicks / ideas, but the result can be a bit mixed. On the other hand, older PGs are a bit too dated, just like the idea of why should anyone get the earliest MG Gundam and Zaku while there are OYW or 2.0 versions, but for PG there are no new versions of them :\
